Saturday was the formal start of 2018 Pucksters with a 11:00 Shotgun Shamble and there were some really low scores – winning day money was the team of Jim and Telus Boudreau with a sizzling 52! A long putt competition was held coming up the hill from the 3rd green and Dennis Schick knocked the 70 foot putt to 8.5 inches to scoop up the gift card. The goalie was tough this year apparently Bellsy only yielded four goals and Junior Golf scored big with shootout proceeds heading their way. A tasty steak dinner and the Saturday evening horse races filled out the rest of the program.
Sunday morning had a 9:00 shotgun start with Better Ball Net the day two format. John Scanland and Craig Park had the round’s low score of 59 and took home day money. The $500 deuce pot was shared by 21 players.
When all the counting was done Murray MacLean and Ron Osterkampf were the 2018 Pucksters champions with a two day score of 116 – congratulations guys!
In the one day gross competition Kevin Dereniwsky topped the field with John Scanland claiming the net title. Prizes were handed out to 11 teams in addition to draw prizes and KP’s.
The Tournament Committee would like to solicit comments regarding how we can improve the 2019 Pucksters. Pull one of us aside and give us your feedback.
Big shoutouts to Tim Foley and his team for a great golf course, Joanna and her team for the super food and timely beverage service(!) and Simon Jones and team for the flawless Tournament operations. We could not do it without these hardworking individuals.
